GROCERY GHOST - PRIVACY POLICY
Last Updated: July 21, 2026Grocery Ghost ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy
Policy explains what information the Grocery Ghost app collects, how it's
used, and the choices you have.
1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect information from Sign in with Apple
or Sign in with Google, including a unique account identifier and, if
provided by Apple or Google, your name and email address. You may also use
the app as a guest without creating an account; guest accounts are
anonymous and cannot be recovered if you lose access to your device.Profile Information
We collect the display name and age range you provide, and a profile photo
if you choose to add one (either uploaded from your photo library or
camera, or, if you sign in with Google, pulled automatically from your
Google account).Household Content
Grocery Ghost stores the content you and the people in your household
create, including shopping list items, categories, stores, recipes,
ingredients, notes, and any photos or voice recordings you attach to them.
Photos and Voice Recordings
If you choose to attach a photo to a shopping list item or recipe, or
record a voice note for a recipe, we access your camera, photo library, or
microphone only when you actively choose to use those features, and only
to store the photo or recording you create.Push Notification Data
If you enable notifications, we store a device token used solely to
deliver notifications to you (for example, when another member of your
household checks off an item, or when someone joins your household).
Subscription Information
If you purchase a Premium subscription, your purchase is processed by
Apple's App Store. We do not collect or store your payment card details.
We store only your subscription status (active or inactive) to determine
what features are available to you and your household.2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We use the information described above to:
- Operate the core features of the app (shared shopping lists and recipes)
- Sync your household's information across devices in real time
- Identify who added, purchased, or checked off items
- Send notifications you've opted into
- Provide and manage Premium subscription features
- Maintain the security and integrity of the serviceWe do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell your
information to third parties.
3. HOW YOUR INFORMATION IS SHAREDInformation you add to a household (shopping list items, recipes, photos,
etc.) is visible to the other members of that household - this is a core
feature of the app, since Grocery Ghost is designed for families and
groups to share a list together. We do not share your information with
anyone outside your household, except with the service providers
described below, who process data on our behalf.4. SERVICE PROVIDERS
We use the following third-party services to operate Grocery Ghost:
- Supabase - database, authentication, and file storage
- Apple - Sign in with Apple, push notifications, and App Store
subscription processing
- Google - Sign in with Google
- RevenueCat - subscription managementEach of these providers processes data only as necessary to provide their
respective service, and is bound by their own privacy and security
practices.
5. DATA RETENTION AND DELETION
You can delete your account at any time from Settings > Delete Account.
This permanently deletes your account and removes your access to your
household's data. Shopping list items are automatically removed the day
after they're checked off, to keep your list current.
6. YOUR CHOICES
- You can turn off purchase notifications at any time in Settings, or
turn off all notifications at the iOS system level.
- You can remove a photo or voice recording you've attached to an item or
recipe at any time.
- You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal
information by contacting us using the information below.7. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
Grocery Ghost is not directed at children under 13, and we do not
knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. SECURITY
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including
encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and access controls that restrict your
household's data to members of that household only.
9. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material
changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date above.

Terms of Use

GROCERY GHOST - TERMS OF USE
Last Updated: July 21, 2026These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Grocery Ghost mobile
application ("the app"). By using the app, you agree to these Terms. If
you do not agree, please do not use the app.1. THE SERVICE
Grocery Ghost lets you and the people you invite ("your household") keep
a shared shopping list and recipe box, synced in real time. Some features
are available on a free plan; others require a paid Premium subscription,
as described below.2. ACCOUNTS
You can use Grocery Ghost as a guest, without creating an account. Guest
accounts are anonymous and cannot be recovered if you lose or reset your
device, reinstall the app, or sign out without first connecting an Apple
or Google account. To avoid losing your list, connect an Apple or Google
account from the Settings screen.You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and
for anything that happens under your account.3. HOUSEHOLDS AND FAMILY MEMBERS
A household is created by one user and can be joined by others using an
invite code. Joining or inviting additional household members beyond the
household's creator requires an active Premium subscription for that
household - only one member of a household needs to subscribe for
everyone in that household to get Premium features. A household may have
up to 5 members in total (the creator plus up to 4 invited members).Anyone you invite into your household will be able to see, add to, and
remove items from your household's shared shopping list and recipe box.
Only invite people you trust with that access.4. SUBSCRIPTIONS
Grocery Ghost offers optional auto-renewing subscriptions ("Premium")
with monthly and yearly options, billed through your Apple ID account.
The yearly option includes a free trial period as shown in the app before
you subscribe; exact pricing, trial length, and billing terms are shown
in the app and in your App Store purchase confirmation before you
complete a purchase.- Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of
purchase.
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at
least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
- Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the
end of the current period, at the price you agreed to at purchase
(subject to any price change Apple requires advance notice of).
- You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your iPhone's
Settings app under [Your Name] > Subscriptions.
- Any unused portion of a free trial period will be forfeited if you
purchase a subscription during the trial, where applicable.The free plan includes unlimited shopping list items, and up to 3
categories, 3 stores, and 3 recipes. Premium removes these limits and
enables adding additional household members, as described above.5. YOUR CONTENT
You retain ownership of the shopping list items, recipes, photos, voice
recordings, and other content you add to the app ("your content"). You're
responsible for your content and for having the right to share it with
your household. Don't upload content that is illegal, infringes someone
else's rights, or that you don't have permission to share.Content you add to a household is visible to other members of that
household. If you leave a household or delete your account, your content
may remain associated with that household unless you remove it first.6. ACCEPTABLE USE
You agree not to:
- Use the app for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to another user's account or
household
- Interfere with or disrupt the app or the servers/networks it relies on
- Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code of the app,
except where permitted by law7. ACCOUNT DELETION AND TERMINATION
You can delete your account at any time from Settings > Delete Account.
This permanently removes your account and your access to your
household's data and cannot be undone.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the app if you violate these
Terms.8. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES
The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any
kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the app will
be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will never be lost, though we
take reasonable measures to protect your data.9. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Grocery Ghost and its developer
will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
arising from your use of the app, including loss of data such as a
shopping list or recipe.10. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material
changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of
